Mr. Burns got to take the day off on Monday since there was a new intermediate principal for the day! Ramsey greeted students at carpool, said the morning announcements, worked the scanner in the cafeteria, conducted teacher observations, and received a Sonic drink and a Crumbl cookie. Thank you, OSF, for creating opportunities like this for our staff and students! #ProudToBeARocket

Muffins & Me was a sweet success! 🧁 It was wonderful seeing so many moms, grandmas, aunts, and sisters spending special time with their kiddoes this morning at Oakdale. The smiles, laughter, and muffins made it a morning to remember!
A big thank you to Oakdale Church of Christ for the coffee and all the awesome dads who stepped in to serve muffins and coffee — you made it extra special! ☕️
Events like this are what make Oakdale such a special place. Huge shoutout to our amazing PTC for always going above and beyond! 💛

As former Oakdale band member Tanner Morgan said during Tuesday night’s performance — ‘It is magical.’ And magical it was! Over 40 alumni band members joined our 7th and 8th grade band for an unforgettable performance of The Greatest Showman.
The evening was also a heartfelt tribute to Mr. Scott, honoring his passion, time, and deep commitment to his students and the Oakdale community. Mr. Lanier stepped in as 'relief' for Dr. Johnson to reflect on Mr. Scott’s incredible legacy.
Mr. Scott was presented with a special trophy from Mr. Berryman — one to take home, and another to be placed in the school’s trophy case as a lasting tribute. Alumni student Chandler Morrison also awarded him a plaque on behalf of all former band members.
Mrs. Snyder closed the evening with a warm invitation for all to attend a reception at River Oaks, hosted by parents and community members, in celebration of Mr. Scott’s retirement.
Thank you, Mr. Scott, for your years of dedication. Your legacy will continue to inspire for years to come. Enjoy your well-earned retirement — you will be deeply missed!

It was a Pizza Party kind of day! 🍕 These sweetie pies won lunch with the Quad Squad through the OSF Online Kids Auction! They enjoyed their own personal pizza, candy, and a drink of their choice. 🧃🍬 Our time was filled with laughter, smiles, and lots of delicious fun! 😄 #OSFKidsAuction #QuadSquadFun #PizzaPartyVibes #ProudtoBeaRocket🚀

We will be following a PM Assembly Schedule on Wednesday, April 30.
If you are signed up to help as a Lunch Buddy, please double-check your schedule and plan accordingly.
Thank you for your support and involvement!

Dear All,
Please join us for a surprise retirement party for Mr. Scott tomorrow, April 29, immediately following the 7th/8th Grade Band Concert at River Oaks Golf Course.
The celebration will run approximately from 7:15 PM to 9:30 PM.
Please keep it a secret — Mr. Scott has no idea!
We hope you can come help us celebrate his incredible career!

On Tuesday, the Oakdale faculty and staff came together to celebrate the retirement of two cherished members of our Rocket family — Bob Scott and Marlene Dunn. Their dedication, kindness, and impact on our school community have been truly remarkable. We wish them both the best as they begin this exciting new chapter — it’s so well deserved! Thank you for everything. Once a Rocket, always a Rocket! 🚀 #OakdaleFamily

Mrs. Reddick needs this year's Rocket Run shirt for their trip to Washington D.C. She still needs a few blue 2024 Rocket Run T-shirts for the 8th graders who are going to DC/NYC in a few weeks. We coordinate our shirts, but the 8th-grade T-shirt was black. If you are willing to donate yours, we need:
XS-3
S - 3
M - 5
You can email her at lreddick@oakdale.org to let her know if you have one.

Our 5th graders are getting hands-on with history in art class by creating monogram 'samplers' — just like children did in colonial times to practice their alphabet and numbers. A fun and creative way to connect art with the past! #ColonialCrafts #ArtAndHistory #HandsOnLearning #ProudToBeARocket

You have two opportunities to witness Mr. Scott’s final performances conducting the Rocket Band! Join us on Tuesday, April 29, at 6 PM for an unforgettable evening featuring the 7/8 bands and jazz band, along with Oakdale alumni, and again on Thursday, May 1, at 6 PM for the 5/6 band. Don’t miss this special moment!

What a sweet time Mrs. Zavarse and Mrs. Dunn had with their OSF Kids Auction winners on their trip to Braum’s for ice cream! Tasty treats, fun playlists in the car, and everyone rocking their pink — it was a blast from start to finish! #OSFKidsAuction #SweetMemories #Braumstreats #RocketFun
