Dear All,
Please join us for a surprise retirement party for Mr. Scott tomorrow, April 29, immediately following the 7th/8th Grade Band Concert at River Oaks Golf Course.
The celebration will run approximately from 7:15 PM to 9:30 PM.
Please keep it a secret — Mr. Scott has no idea!
We hope you can come help us celebrate his incredible career!

On Tuesday, the Oakdale faculty and staff came together to celebrate the retirement of two cherished members of our Rocket family — Bob Scott and Marlene Dunn. Their dedication, kindness, and impact on our school community have been truly remarkable. We wish them both the best as they begin this exciting new chapter — it’s so well deserved! Thank you for everything. Once a Rocket, always a Rocket! 🚀 #OakdaleFamily

Mrs. Reddick needs this year's Rocket Run shirt for their trip to Washington D.C. She still needs a few blue 2024 Rocket Run T-shirts for the 8th graders who are going to DC/NYC in a few weeks. We coordinate our shirts, but the 8th-grade T-shirt was black. If you are willing to donate yours, we need:
XS-3
S - 3
M - 5
You can email her at lreddick@oakdale.org to let her know if you have one.

Exciting day in first grade! Mrs. Carter, Mrs. Stratton, and Mrs. Clements’ classrooms got to witness science in action as their baby chicks 🐣 hatched today! Such a special hands-on learning moment — classroom learning at its best! #HatchingDay #ScienceInAction #FirstGradeFun #ProudToBeARocket

Our 5th graders are getting hands-on with history in art class with Mrs. Keyser by creating monogram 'samplers' — just like children did in colonial times to practice their alphabet and numbers. A fun and creative way to connect art with the past! #ColonialCrafts #ArtAndHistory #HandsOnLearning #ProudToBeARocket

The top bracket winners of March Mammal Madness! These students researched 64 animals to decide which animal would win in nature. This game is played by students from all over the world. #ProudtoBeaRocket

Our fifth graders did an amazing job researching and sharing what they learned about important historical figures! They created informative posters and wrote scripts to showcase the lives and legacies of their chosen individuals. So proud of their hard work and creativity! #FutureHistorians #StudentShowcase #ProudToBeARocket

Shout out to our Middle School Librarian for the day, Lucy Turney. Lucy won this opportunity from the OSF online kids auction. Last Thursday, Lucy spent the day in the Middle School
Library. She assisted by helping with classes, checking books in, shelving, and checking books out to students. Lucy enjoyed a special lunch in the library and got some reading swag too. We may have a future librarian on our hands! #RocketReaders #ProudToBeARocket

You have two opportunities to witness Mr. Scott’s final performances conducting the Rocket Band! Join us on Tuesday, April 29, at 6 PM for an unforgettable evening featuring the 7/8 bands and jazz band, along with Oakdale alumni, and again on Thursday, May 1, at 6 PM for the 5/6 band. Don’t miss this special moment!

Dusti Bowling was so awesome, we just had to do TWO posts! 🙌📚
She led three dynamic, all-grade presentations and then spent a class period with Mrs. Rihn’s 7th-grade ELA class—bringing along skeletons of desert animals and answering a ton of thoughtful questions from students! 🦴🌵
To top it off, Dusti had lunch with Mrs. Jones and the students who had read Canyon’s Edge and Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus. They played bingo, decorated cactus cookies, and had some amazing conversations—she was fully engaged with every student and made the day unforgettable! 🎉🍪🎲
10/10 speaker and an even more incredible human being. We’re so grateful to OSF and our amazing Oakdale parents who helped make this opportunity possible. THANK YOU! 💜
