12 Days of Spinozi was a huge success!
With the teamwork of Ms. Malisa and Mr. Cavin, Oakdale raised over $1300 for The Oklahoma City Center! And yes… that meant Spinozi got a pie in the face! 🥧🤣
Spinozi volunteers and works year-round to support families in need during the holiday season, and he was so appreciative of our amazing OAKDALE ROCKETS for showing up with big hearts. 💙🚀

Justin Colon, author of Quaken, visited Oakdale on our 67th day of school! 📚✨ He brought incredible energy and kept the crowd entertained as he shared his journey to becoming an author and what it takes to write a children’s book. Students loved the audience participation as he walked them through the writing process in a fun and memorable way!

🌿🎨 Our Outdoors Club has been hard at work!
Students spent time painting stones for the garden’s walking path, adding creativity and color to a space we all enjoy. Even in winter, we stay busy with garden improvement projects—and this group showed amazing teamwork and imagination while bringing this path to life!

It was such a wonderful way to bring together former and current Rockets for a meaningful cause. The atmosphere was festive, the vendors were fabulous, and the community spirit was truly heartwarming.

🎢✨ Our 7th-grade scientists have been on a roll—literally!

This week, students put their understanding of potential and kinetic energy into action by designing and building their very own roller coasters. Once their tracks were complete, they put them to the test to see just how smoothly (or wildly!) their creations could run!
From twists and turns to loops and drops, these projects were an awesome hands-on way to see physics come alive in the classroom. We loved the creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving on display.

🚢❄️ Titanic Week in 3rd Grade! ❄️🚢
This week, our students dove into a historical fiction book about the Titanic—and then took their learning a step further with some chilly hands-on experiments!
🧊 Students put their hands into ice-cold water (about the same temp as the North Atlantic!) to feel just how freezing it was the night the Titanic sank.
🦭 Then we explored how animal blubber helps marine mammals survive extreme cold. Students rubbed their hands with Crisco and dipped them into the icy water again to test out the insulating “blubber.”
Lots of shocked faces, lots of laughter, and lots of learning!
