Oakdale School Board members, staff, students, and families were excited to welcome our new superintendent, Mr. Still, officially, and his family at the Meet & Greet! Oakdale students created thoughtful welcome books, cards, signs, and posters to help make their visit extra special.
It was wonderful seeing students, families, staff, and former colleagues stop by to share warm wishes and introduce themselves. Mr. Still and his family enjoyed meeting new faces!

5th graders dive deep into Colonial America through their Social Studies standards, so what better way to bring history to life than with Colonial Day! 📚
Students rotated through 6 hands-on stations, with each teacher presenting a skill or activity from the colonial time period. Stations included:
🪶 Printing & writing with quill feathers and ink
🧵 Doll making
📖 Book binding/making
🕵️ Spies of the Revolution
🔨 Tin smithing
🏺 Exploring artifacts and materials from the Colonial America tubs checked out from the Oklahoma History Center
From learning new skills to creating unforgettable memories, students got real-life experiences that made history come alive right before their eyes!

🌊🚀 Our 5th graders had an absolute BLAST at their Riversport field trip! 🚀🌊
Students spent the day taking on exciting adventures like the rapids, surfing, ropes course, and so much more! 🏄♂️🧗♀️💦 There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and memories made during this action-packed “Outdoor Class” day.

Students got hands-on experience with aviation by:
🚀 Making and launching rockets
🛩️ Labeling parts of an airplane with a take-home model
👨✈️ Sitting inside the cockpit of a real plane and learning about the different parts firsthand

Shout out to the amazing PTC team, along with the support of many generous Oakdale parents, who showered the faculty and staff daily last week for Teacher Appreciation Week. ❤️🍎 Parents also stepped in throughout the week to help the PTC team by covering recess duties for Pre-K through 5th grade, helping make all the special events and treats possible for our staff.
Vendors for the week included Chick-fil-A, Meddy’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Oak City Pizza, OBC Soda Bar, Tommy’s Express Car Wash, relaxing massages, and many parents who generously sent homemade loaves of bread.
The teachers and staff are incredibly grateful for the thoughtfulness, generosity, and encouragement shown throughout the week. Thank you for making every member of our Oakdale team feel appreciated and valued! 🚀

From Pre-K through 8th grade, students and teachers lined the halls to cheer them on and celebrate their accomplishments. Following the walk, seniors enjoyed a special reception with their former Oakdale teachers thanks to the generosity of parents who helped make the event possible.
It was inspiring to see so many former Rockets who have gone on to excel in high school and beyond. Among this outstanding group were valedictorians, salutatorians, class presidents, StuCo presidents, and many other student leaders who continue to make us proud to have been part of their journey.

🎶🎺 Our 5th–8th grade bands wrapped up their spring concerts last week with fantastic performances for both students and families on Tuesday and Thursday evenings! 👏🎵
The growth, talent, and dedication of our student musicians were on full display. A huge thank you to Mr. Hall and Ms. Toles for all the hard work, time, and energy they pour into helping students master their instruments and develop a lifelong love of music. 🎼💙

5th graders and their teachers had a great time celebrating Cinco De Mayo! 🎉🌮🎥
This fun class celebration was earned through the Oakdale School Foundation Kids Auction, where the teachers put together a special party for the entire class. Students learned about the culture and history behind Cinco de Mayo while enjoying a day full of fun activities.
The class enjoyed nachos, played bingo, and wrapped up the day watching CoCo together. 🍿🎶✨This is another great example of why OSF is such an important part of Oakdale and how their support helps create unique opportunities and memorable experiences for our students every day! 💖🚀

Faculty and staff recently enjoyed a sweet retirement celebration honoring Dr. Johnson and Mrs. Padgett for their years of dedication and service to Oakdale. ❤️🚀
Mrs. Padgett’s journey at Oakdale began as an Oakdale mom with her two younger sons before returning to the classroom full-time and coaching volleyball. Through the years, she led many successful volleyball seasons and made a lasting impact, helping students strengthen their reading skills in her Reading Club class. She has been a steady source of encouragement and support to students and coworkers alike, always willing to lend a helping hand. Mrs. Padgett will certainly be missed, but we are excited for her as she begins this next chapter filled with fun, family, and relaxation.
Dr. Johnson has been a part of the Oakdale community for many years and has faithfully served as Superintendent for the past three years. His family legacy at Oakdale has continued with leadership, dedication, and deep respect for our students, faculty, and community. We are grateful for the confidence, vision, and leadership he brought to Oakdale during his time of service.
We wish both Mrs. Padgett and Dr. Johnson many happy years ahead, filled with travel, relaxation, and special memories with loved ones. Thank you both for the lasting impact you have made on Oakdale! 💙
🐮✨ What a COWtastic learning experience for our 4th graders! ✨🐮
Students had an amazing time meeting and learning about calves raised by the Bixler family from Winoka, Oklahoma. They got to pet the calves, practice leading them, and a few students even enjoyed some sweet calf hugs! 🤎🐄
The Bixlers shared so much fascinating information about ranch life and caring for calves. Students learned:
-The Bixler ranch was established years before Oklahoma became a state and has stayed in the family for generations 🤠
- The differences between male and female cows
- When a male/female twin calf is born, the female is unable to have babies
- Calves can begin walking about 30 minutes after birth 🐾
- How quickly calves grow, and the process of bottle feeding and weaning before moving to a boys ranch when they are older
This hands-on experience truly brought agriculture and Oklahoma history to life for our students! 🌾💡

Students took on exciting challenges such as designing a cruise ship, movie theater, and even an escape room! 🚢🎬🔐
The project began with students solving challenging math problems connected to each design process. Then, they took their learning a step further by applying those skills through hands-on, creative projects that they designed and presented to their peers. 👏💡
