Fathiyah Ayodele, a proud former Oakdale student and 2026 graduate of Edmond Memorial High School, continues to shine as an example of dedication, leadership, and academic excellence. Recently named an Oklahoma Academic All-Stater, Fathiyah has also served as a Teen Leader for the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and was accepted into a prestigious pre-med program as an OU Medical Humanities Scholar.
The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence ceremony honored the Academic All-Staters and their honored teacher-guests at a dinner on May 2. The event will be televised on OETA this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Fathiyah’s winning essay reflected on the impact of her 8th-grade ELA teacher, Mrs. Hartman, now in her seventh year of teaching middle school ELA at Oakdale. In her writing, Fathiyah described how the high expectations and encouragement she received at Oakdale inspired her to push beyond her limits and continue striving for excellence in high school and beyond.
This fall, she will take the next step in her journey by studying medicine at the University of Oklahoma. Oakdale is proud to celebrate Fathiyah’s success and looks forward to all she will accomplish in the years ahead.
