Mrs. Branscum’s Very Curious Book Tasting Tea Party is officially one of 4th grade's favorite Oakdale traditions! This second annual event gave students the chance to “sample” books like tea and discover new stories and genres to add to their TBR lists. 📖
The BEST part? Hearing students say they were surprised by a genre they didn’t think they’d like—and then immediately asking to borrow the book! ❤️
A huge thank-you to Mrs. Branscum’s incredible team, our phenomenal families who provided the delicious food and support, and the OSF for the grant that made this magical experience possible.
What a wonderful way to grow readers and a love of books! 🫖📚✨ We’re already curious about where the rabbit hole leads next! 🐇

🎉 CONNECT FOUR(TH) CHAMPIONS! 🔴🟡
Our 4th graders celebrated the fourth day of school with a Connect Four(th) tournament! The competition started in each homeroom, with students battling it out until each class crowned a champion. 🏆
Then came the grand finale! It was a heated battle, but in the end, Mrs. Mosley’s class came out on top as our Connect Four(th) Champions! 👏🎉

Each student completed two BINGOs on their reading cards, meaning they read an impressive 9–10 books each! 📖👏 Way to go, Rockets! 🚀What a fun way to celebrate reading and encourage our students to keep those pages turning all summer long! ☀️📚

Our fifth-grade scientists put their hypotheses to the test by placing gummy bears in different liquids—including vinegar, oil, water, salt water, syrup, and more! 🔬💧

Our first PTC (Parent Teacher Club) meeting of the year is Tuesday, August 1 at 8:30 am in the Fine Arts, and we’d love to see some new faces! Especially if you’re a newer Oakdale family, this is a great way to learn more about our school and find a way to get involved. 🏫✨
The PTC is made up of parent volunteers who want to see Oakdale be the best school it can be. They help plan and coordinate activities that benefit our teachers, staff, students, and families throughout the school year. ❤️
