Today, during our Veterans Day assembly, we honored the brave men and women who have served our country. As everyone was being seated, a slideshow played featuring pictures of veterans submitted by students and faculty. Boy Scout Troop 121 presented the colors, and we were proud to recognize our own Dr. Johnson and Teddy Byrd for their service. Many students shared heartfelt stories about their family members who are veterans, including Emmerson Jewell’s great-grandfather, Dow McCarty, a 94-year-old Korean War veteran, and Kate Anderson’s father, Jeffrey Anderson, who recently retired from service. Student performances and presentations: -First graders sang My Country ‘Tis of Thee -Second, third, & fourth graders sang You’re a Grand Old Flag -Choir and band performed America My Home together -Fifth graders shared the meaning behind the White Table, honoring prisoners of war and missing service members We were honored to have Senator Pugh in attendance, who shared moving remarks about the significance of this day and the sacrifices of those who serve. We are proud to be Rockets today as we celebrated the courage, dedication, and families of those who have answered the call to serve our country! #ProudtoBeaRocket #Veteran'sDay

Special day in Mrs. Dunn’s class today!
4th grade students published their first narrative of the year and got to celebrate with a publishing party! Students were able to enjoy delicious snacks while listening to their peers read their stories.

One spotlight writer from each class was announced as well- Aurora Jones, Grayson Hunt, Giada Stupiello, and Eliza Turney!

Such a fun way to send our writing into the world. 🌎📝💛

We had special guests Roz the K9, Maggie, and members of the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) visit to talk about the importance of making good choices and living drug-free. 🐾👮‍♂️✨
